In Regard To Tonight’s World Series Game 1, I Am Reminded Of “Aesop’s Fables”…

…And This Quote Totally Sums It Up For Me, Tonight.

THOUGH THIS MAY BE PLAY TO YOU, ‘TIS DEATH TO US.

AESOP

<<<(c. 620 B.C. – c. 564 B.C.)>>>

Oh Aesop…

…If Only You Knew, Dude.

If Only You Knew.

😦

BASEBALL And MILLI VANILLI! Wait… WHAT?! HOW!?!

Remember This One?!

… … …

You Said You Didn’t Need Her…

…You Told Her Goodbye…

…You Sacrificed A Good Love…

…To Satisfy Your Pride…

…Now You Wished That You Should Have Her…

…And You Feel Like Such A Fool…

…You Let Her Walk Away…

…Now It Just Don’t Feel The Same…

…Gotta Blame It On Something…

…Gotta Blame It On Something…

BLAME IT ON THE RAINIs Off Of The Hit 1989 AlbumGIRL YOU KNOW IT’S TRUEBy MILLI VANILLI !!!

…Blame It On The Rain…

…That Was Falling, Fallin’…

…Blame It On The Stars…

…That Shine At Night…

…Whatever You Do…

…Don’t Put The Blame On You…

…Blame It On The Rain…

…Yeah, Yeah…

…You Can Blame It On The Rain. …

… … … … …

… …

Yeah Yeah Yeah…

…I Know.

I’m Lame.

But I Do PROMISE, My Peeps…

…This Is The ONLY Song From Ole…

MILLI VANILLI

…That I Have.

Seriously.

IT IS!

I PROMISE PROMISE, My Peeps!!

😉

Okay.

Now That That’s Out Of The Way…

…Yes…

…I Seriously Do Enjoy The Jam…

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

…But I Do Have A Very Good Reason!

It Reminds Me Of Fun Times Spent With An Exceptional Friend…

…Years And Years Ago…

…When I Found-Out It’s HIS Favorite Song By…

MILLI VANILLI

😀

I Was Never A Fan Of The Pop Duo, Until Then.

And I Still Don’t Consider Myself A Fan Of Theirs.

Just This ONE Song.

Now…

…Are You Ready For My Tie-In?!

Alright.

This Friend ALSO Just Happens To Be An Even Bigger Fan Of…

The DETROIT TIGERS

He’s The One Who Bought Me This DETROIT TIGERS T-Shirt Many A Moon Ago!

!!! !!! !!!

HA!

Bet You Didn’t Think I Could Make Mentioning This Song Relevant, Did Ya!

DID YA!!

HA HA!!!

Yes.

I’m Serious, My Peeps.

Thing Is…

…I Can’t Listen To This Song At All Without Thinking About Him…

…And All Those Crazy Crazy Nights Spent Kickin’-About…

…Getting Into AND Out-Of All Sorts Of Sordid Trouble.

He’s Crazy Like I Am…

…And Could (almost) Always Party Harder Than ANYONE ALIVE!

And When The Time Was Right…

…When The Party Was Starting To Look Like It Was Slipping…

…He’d Bust-Out…

MILLI VANILLI

…And…

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

!!! !!!

😀       😀

O.M.G.

CRAZY CHIT, MANE!

Fo REALZ And Fo SHO!!

I Hadn’t Listened To This Song For Quite Some Time…

…That Is, Until Last Night.

I Was Thumbing Through Ye Ole MP3Player…

…And I Just Happened To Land On This Crackerjack Of A Ditty.

Suddenly…

…All These Memories Flooded To The Surface.

It Made Me Smile, That’s A BIG FO SHO.

So Much So, In Fact…

…I Couldn’t Pass-Up This Chance To Make Mention Of…

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

&

The DETROIT TIGERS

…And Of How They’re Connected In My Twisted Mind!

😀     😀     😀

I Know My Old Friend Will Be Watching…

THE MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES

…Between…

The DETROIT TIGERS

&

The SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

…And So Will I.

I Hope He Does Read This.

And I Hope It Makes Him Smile, Also.

It Should.

Of Course…

…It May Also Make Him Cringe A Tad When He Discovers I’ve Outed His Love Of…

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN

HA HA!!

Lucky For Him…

…However…

…I Love It, Also.

So We Can Commiserate With One Another.

😉

Goooooo TIGERS!!!

😀       😀       😀       😀       😀       😀

I Think I’m (almost) In The Clear, My Peeps =)

I’m Still A Bit Sore From The Whole Ordeal…

…But That Is Slowly Passing.

Thank Jeebus, Right?!

Sure.

Ya Know…

…If Ya Wanna.

Me?

I’m Thanking The Pain-Meds AND The Anti-Inflammatory Meds.

They’ve Saved My Skin, Yet Again.

And While My Stomach Is A But Funkified From All The Medications…

…At Least My Mouth Doesn’t Hurt Toooo Badly.

I’m Still Rather Sore There, Also, But It Is Subsiding.

Th Life Lesson Learned By This Experience???

Hmm.

Watch-Out For Rogue Macadamia Nuts.

Those Bastards My Taste Like Heaven…

…But They Can Also Do Some Serious Damage.

Now I’m Just Wishing I Could Keep My Damned Tongue AWAY From The Empty Hole That Was Once A Rather Large Tooth.

The Tongue Can Be A Bastard, Also.

It Simply Can’t Stand Not Feeling Around In One’s Mouth.

And If Something Feels Weird To It…

…BAAM…

…It’s After It.

That Alone Could Drive A Man Bonkers!

At Least…

…This Man It Does.

I’ve Been Awake Since About 4:30am’ish…

…And I Don’t Like I’ve Accomplished Very Much.

But Who Gives A Shit?

It’s SUNDAY, For Pete’s Sake.

SUNDAY Is A Day Of Rest AND Worship.

Annnnnnd…

…Since I Worship NO ONE, Nor NOTHING…

…SUNDAY Becomes All About The REST Portion.

There’s Some Baseball On To Watch Tonight…

…SO…

…That’s Likely What I Shall Endeavor To Do.

And I Shall Endeavor To Do Is QUIET WELL, In-Fact.

CARDINALS Vs GIANTS

…And…

TIGERS Vs TheYanks

😀

Should Be Loads Of Fun For One And All, Fo SHO!!!

Anyway, My Peeps…

…I Shall End This Message As I Have In The Past.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Your Support And Kind Words/Thoughts Have Been A Major Help.

😉

🙂

😀

FROM BRADLEY With LURVE, …#Pilot#

---Chapter 1: A New Beginning, or Bloggin'ing---

… … …

After A Lengthy Discussion…

…With…

“MY PARTNER In CRIME”

…I Decided To Begin A New Bloggin’ing Experience…

…With…

…Y’ALL.

I’m Calling This New Bloggin’ing Experience…

“FROM BRADLEY With LURVE, …”

I Expect To Have A Regular Pant-Load Of Excitement Brewin’ About With The Possibilities Surrounding The Innuendo Levied There.

(SIDE NOTE: Can You Repeat The Line Before This One, But THREE-TIMES-SUPER-DUPER FAST?!?!?)

So…

…I’ve Decided…

…To Use An Old “Standby-Staple”…

…Of…

“YOU JIVIN’ ME, TURKEY?”

…Namely…

…The Good Ole…

“12-IN-’12”

…To Help Usher-In…

My NEW Series

“FROM BRADLEY With LURVE, …”

😀

Tonight…

…I’m Highlighting…

MY 12 FAVORITE MLB FRANCHISES (that aren’t The St. Louis Cardinals) and WHY!

Sounds Like A Lot Of Fun, Eh?!?!

My Thoughts, Also.

Fo SHO Fo SHO!!!

The ST. LOUIS CARDINALS Are Of Course The Be-All-That-Ends-All-In-Baseball, Y’all!!! 😀

Let Us Begin…

…At The Beginning…

…Where You’re SUPPOSED To Start, By The Way.

… … …

#Honorable Mention

THE SAN DIEGO PADRES

The SAN DIEGO PADRES: Actually, This Stems From My Navy Days. In 1998, While Attending Journalism School At Ft. Meade, Maryland, The Baseball WORLD SERIES Was Played-Out That October By The SAN DIEGO PADRES and The NEW YORK YANKEES. I Totally HATED The Yanks, and The Horses They Rode-In-On, So I Rooted Extra EXTRA HARD For The PADRES That Series. The Yanks SWEPT The Pads, 4Games To NONE! 😦

… … …

#12

THE SEATTLE MARINERS

The SEATTLE MARINERS: This One Is A Pretty EASY Guess For Anyone That Knows Me Very Well. I Was Stationed In Everett AND Bremerton, Washington, In 1999, 2000, and 2001. I Was THERE When They Blew-Up “The King Dome” AND When They Opened “SAFECO Field” and I’ve Had A Warm’ish/Soft’ish Place In My Heart For The Mariners Since Then. Sadly, They Really Do Suck BADLY The Majority Of The Time. Oh Well. 😦

… … …

#11

THE OAKLAND ATHLETICS

The OAKLAND ATHLETICS: These Cats Are Here For ONE REASON… “The BASH-BROTHERS” Fo SHO! Being A Child Of The 80s, There’s No-More-GLARING Example Of The 80s Than McGWIRE and CANSECO and Their FOREARM-BUMP HAHAHA Yes, Yes Indeed. Tons-O-Fun To WATCH! And Now They’ve All Be Labeled “Cheaters” Because They Were Raging-On-Roids. 😦

… … …

#10

THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS

The MILWAUKEE BREWERS: The LOGO Is WHY I Like Them. PERIOD. What Can I Say? It’s A DAMNED POWERFUL LOGO, Fo SHO Fo SHO!!! 🙂

… … …

#9

THE MONTREAL EXPOS

The MONTREAL EXPOS: A Wonderful Franchise That Was Choked-To-Death By RAMPANT LOSING, And The Fact They Were Canada’s “OTHER TEAM” or “BASTARD TEAM” or “LOSING TEAM” or Whatever. I Honestly LOVED The EXPOS, And I DID Shed A Tear The Day They Started Playing Half Of Their Home-Games In The CARIBBEAN!!! At That Point, We Knew Their Time Was On Life-Support. 😦

… … …

#8

THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

The SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS: From The 1980s Until The Start Of The 1993 Season, I Was A Major Fan Of The GIANTS. WILL "The Thrill" CLARK was THE MAN, As Was MATT WILLIAMS, Fo SHO!!! And YES, I Did Root For The GIANTS To BEAT The A's In The 1989 WORLD SERIES (aka "Earthquake Series"). Sadly, however, BARRY BONDS Left The PITTSBURGH PIRATES And Headed West, To The Greener-Pastures Of SAN FRAN. I Always HATED B.B., And That Became The "I HATE The GIANTS!" Rallying-Cry For Li'l Ole ME. I Bet Against Them During The 2002 WORLD SERIES, But (with Barry GONE) I Totally Bet For Them To WIN In The 2010 WORLD SERIES. I Won BOTH Bets. 😉

… … …

#7

THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS: I Always Had A Soft-Spot For The JAYS. They Had Some Damn Fine Ball-Clubs Over The Years. And NO They Didn’t Get Much Recognition Even After Winning The WORLD SERIES In 1992 AND AGAIN in 1993!!! Those JAYS Teams Were TRUE-BLUE-POWERHOUSES, Fo FLIPPIN’ SHO!!! John Olerud -1B- Was MY FAVORITE JAY, By The Way. 😉

 … … …

#6

THE PITTSBURGH PIRATES

The PITTSBURGH PIRATES: These Dudes Were ALWAYS My Father's FAVORITE TEAM (and a little of that rubbed of on ME). We Used To Watch Them EVERY TIME They Played The ST. LOUIS CARDINALS or The CHICAGO CUBS or The ATLANTA BRAVES (since we get all three of those stations here in SoIL). The PIRATES Had A Horrid Habit Of "Playing Amazing Baseball To Get Into The Play-Offs" Followed Quickly By "CHOKE CHOKE CHOKE"!!! 😦

… … …

#5

THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX

The CHICAGO WHITE SOX: The CHISOX Are THE ONE and THE ONLY Professional Sports Team I EVER Root For That’s Also FROM Chicago. The BEST Reason To Love The CHISOX? Because SAYING The Phrase “I LOVE THE CHISOX!” Goes A VERY Long Way In PISSING-OFF Those True-Blue CUBS Fans. 😀 I Was Tickled-Pink When They Finally Won The WORLD SERIES In 2005… …And Less-Tickled-Pink In The SIX SEASONS SINCE!!! 😦

… … …

#4

THE NEW YORK METS

The NEW YORK METS: I Purchased My Very 1st METS Baseball-Cap In 1991. My Two Favorite METS Players In 1991 Were 3B/Utility-Man HOWARD "HoJo" JOHNSON and Their Closer JOHN FRANCO. And WHY Did I Take-Up The Cause Of The Lowly (at that time) METS? Because I KNEW That By Doing So I Was GUARANTEED To PISS-OFF SOMEONE!!! When (nearly) Your Whole Bedrock Of Family AND Friends Are Constantly Divided Between The CARDS and The CUBS... Yeah... A Little Of The Ole "Monkey Wrench Into The Works" Routine Is TOTALLY Called-For, Fo SHO!!! 😉

… … …

#3

THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

The PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES: Well, The PHILLIES Won The WORLD SERIES The Year I Was Born. They’ve Won 5-Pennants In My Short (while not so short) Lifetime (1980, 1983, 1993, 2008 & 2009). The Icing On Cake, For ME, Was The PHILLIES Are The Franchise My Childhood Baseball HERO, 3B MIKE SCHMIDT, Played BRILLIANTLY For His ENTIRE CAREER. Of ALL The “Retirement Announcements” I’ve EVER Seen AND/OR Heard, MIKE SCHMIDT’s In 1989 Brought Even ME To Tears. SCHMIDT Retires, PETE ROSE Gets Banished, AND The Earthquake During The WORLD SERIES. Yepper Kids, 1989 Was A VERY TOUGH Year, That’s Fer DAYUM Sure.

… … …

#2

THE DETROIT TIGERS

The DETROIT TIGERS: 5-NAMES You MUST Remember, My Peeps. #1 THOMAS MAGNUM! #2 ALAN TRAMMELL! #3 JACK MORRIS! #4 KIRK GIBSON #5 DANNY YATES! I Do So So SO Love Love LOVE My TIGERS! ‘Nuf ‘Ced, Fo SHO Fo SHO!!!

… … …

And Finally…

…What Is BRADLEY’s FAVORITE  (non St. Louis Cardinals) BASEBALL FRANCHISE???

???

???

#1

THE KANSAS CITY ROYALS

The KANSAS CITY ROYALS: I’ve Mentioned To Y’all Previously That The 1985 WORLD SERIES Was “THE BIRTH Of MY BASEBALL FANATICISM ” Which Has Yet To Ever Really Change. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Baseball. And The ’85 Series Was Between These KANSAS CITY ROYALS and Those ST. LOUIS CARDINALS!!! My Favorite Pitcher Of MY Lifetime (thus far)? BRET SABERHAGAN Of KC, DUH!!! So Yeah, The ROYALS BEAT The CARDINALS In 7-Games. While I DO Maintain The VERY Correct Knowledge Of HOW and WHY The Cards DIDN’T Win Game 6 (it was due to the UMPIRE’s blown-call) BUT They STILL Had To LOSE Game 7! And BOY OH BOY Did The CARDS LOSE IT! The Final Score Was ROYALS 11 (aka a thumpin’), CARDINALS 0 (aka zero, nadda, nuttin’)!!! BUT, My Peeps, I Am NOT A Fickle Man. I Don’t Jump From Ship To Ship Like So So SO Many Folks Do. I Know WHO I AM, WHAT I’VE GOT, WHAT I NEED, WHAT I SHOULD HAVE, WHO I’M WITH, and WHO I’VE LEFT BEHIND. My FAVORITE PITCHER EVER EVER EVER Is BRET SABERHAGEN Of Those KANSAS CITY ROYALS, FOOO SHOOO!! The CARDINALS May Be The BIGGEST-BOYS On MY-BLOCK, But I Do Do DO Sooooooooooo LOVE ME SOME ROYALS! WOOT!!! 😀

… … …

I Sure Hope Y’all Enjoyed That One.

I’ve Had A Rather Tiring…

…Yet…

…Personally Productive Evening.

I Think THIS Personal Accomplishment Merits…

…A HOT CUP…

…Of…

“8 O’CLOCK COFFEE”

!!!

Mmm Mmm MMMM!!!

😉

Just A Side Note To My Previous Post…

WOW!

And…

Also…

SHEESH!

All I’ve Heard Since My Last Post Is…

“San Fran Got SCREWED!”

“KC Made Out Like BANDITS!”

“How Could San Fran DO THIS?!”

Blah.

Blah.

BLAH INDEED.

And YES…

I Am VERY SINCERE in regard to My BLAHS!

Just To WAKE-PEOPLE-UP…

Even For A MOMENT…

Is Jonathan Sanchez TALENTED? Yes.

Is Jonathan Sanchez A STRIKE-OUT PITCHER? Yes.

I Can’t Deny Either Point, So I WILL NOT TRY.

HOWEVER HOWEVER HOWEVER…

Is Jonathan Sanchez WAY WAY WAY OVERRATED? YES YES YES!

And…

Since People Seem To Be Making Their Statements Based TOTALLY ON PERCEPTIONS

I’m Going To Post His CAREER STATS.

After Seeing Them, Perhaps A Few Of You WILL BACK OFF!

Statements Based On FACTS + PERCEPTIONS are FINE and 112% ACCEPTABLE.

PERIOD.

I Just Simply…

DO NOT IN ANY WAY Think Folks Have Ever Even CONSIDERED Checking The Man’s Numbers.

PERIOD PERIOD.

So

Here. They. Are.

Yeah.

EXACTLY!

TWO (2) Winning Seasons

Out Of SIX (6) Total Seasons.

THAT’S IT.

PERIOD.

Yep, He WAS 3-1 His Rookie Year.

And He Pitched That Year Almost TOTALLY Out Of The Pen.

And (also) YEP, His ERA WAS Almost 5!

BUT To Be Fair…

It Was His Rookie Year…

So We Can ALL Cut Him Slack There.

No Problem.

His 2nd-Season?

Well…

Pitched More

SUCKED MORE.

BUT, He Did Have More Strike-Outs Than Innings-Pitched…

So I KNOW Some Of You Have Already Given Him A PASS For That Season, also.

I Cut Him A Little-Slack For That One.

And THAT’S ALL He Gets From Me.

Shall I Continue?

I DID Make Sure To Highlight Those Stellar Win/Loss Records AND Those ERA’s.

Ya Know…

For Those Of You Who Think I’m Being Crazy OR Harsh in regard to The Guy.

HOWEVER HOWEVER HOWEVER (again)…

I DID Call It a (Maybe) Win (Maybe) Win for Both Clubs.

The Fact Most Folks Seem To Think It Was TOTALLY A One-Sided-Deal…

…In KC’s Favor, No Less…

Yeah.

Sorry Kids.

IT WASN’T One-Sided AT ALL.

Strike-Out Numbers Are Great, Yes.

The Fact Sanchez’s Only TRUE Winning Season As A STARTER…

Was ALSO The Year His TEAM Won The World Series?

Hmmm…

Yeah…

Hmmm INDEED.

He Does Strike-Out Almost 9.5 Batters-PER-GAME!

WOOHOO!

NICE!

Oh, Yeah, Right…

…and He Walks Almost 5 Batters-PER-GAME!

Not Jokin’…

I Promise.

Check The Stats, Please.

I’ll Wait.

I’ve Got Minutes.

People Say W/L Records Aren’t What REAL Students Of The Game Go By.

And You’re Right.

BUT…

ERA Is PRETTY IMPORTANT…

Correct?

M’Kay.

Glad We Agree There.

Sanchez Has Posted a SUB 4.24 ERA Exactly…

Hmmm…

OH, RIGHT…

ONCE.

That’s It.

ONCE.

Yet...

San Fran Got Hosed?

And...

KC Won The Lotto?

It’s Not Quite A Runaway, Is It?

Not. At. All.

Since I Really Don’t Wanna Fuel AND Fan More Upon More Flames…

I’m Simply Giving You The Link To MELKY CABRERA’s Stats.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cabreme01.shtml

Is He A GREAT PLAYER?

No.

Is He A Pretty-Good Player?

That’s A MAJOR-LEAGUE-POSSIBILITY-FO-FLIPPIN’-SHO.

He’s Been Up and Down, Sure Sure.

It Happens To Most Players During A Career.

Try Watching AND Paying-Attention to OUR GAME For A Few Years or So.

You’ll Watch It All Happen RIGHT BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES.

That’s A MAJOR-LEAGUE-PROMISE-FO-FLIPPIN’-SHO.

BUUUUUUUUUT

2011 WAS A Break-Out-Season For Melky.

And Melky Is Now Hitting His PRIMEer’ishYEARS.

AT THIS MOMENT

I’d Take MELKY Over SANCHEZ In A HEARTBEAT.

PERIOD PERIOD PERIOD.

The Giants SUCKED in 2011 Due To A LACK OF RUN SCORING!

The Royals SUCKED in 2011 Due To A LACK OF DECENT STARTING PITCHING!

It Appears BOTH TEAMS Are Attempting To ADDRESS THOSE ISSUES!

Wouldn’t YOU Agree???

I May Suck At Ending A Debate…

Hell, I Dunno…

The Debate WASN’T My Point.

Not My Point At All.

My Point…

My ONE and ONLY Point…

Was That OTHER FOLKS Should STUDY THE FACTS

AND…

They Should Do So BEFORE They Click-Those-Tongues

BEFORE They Come-Out With BOTH-BARRELS-BLAZING

And…

BEFORE They Do So With Someone Who CHECKS said FACTS!

The Numbers MAY Lead To An Incomplete-Answer At Times, Yes.

BUT…

The Numbers DO NOT LIE.

It’s Important To Comprehend The Difference Between Those Two Statements.

It “MAY” Save You From…

hmmm…

Something

Sometime

Somewhere

“MAY” Being The Key Word.

😉

WOW! Hahaha HOLY COW Indeed, Kids!

Check It Out…

Royals Acquire Jonathan Sanchez For Melky Cabrera

(Pieces Of The Article) By Tim Dierkes

The Royals acquired lefty Jonathan Sanchez and minor league starter Ryan Verdugo from the Giants for outfielder Melky Cabrera, announced the team.

Sanchez, 28, may have been a non-tender candidate for the Giants after a disappointing 2011 season that saw him walk 5.9 per nine innings and miss significant time with biceps tendinitis and a sprained ankle.  The southpaw is tough to hit and has big-time strikeout numbers, but control has always been a problem.  In Sanchez, Felipe Paulino, and Danny Duffy, Royals GM Dayton Moore has strong strikeout potential for three-fifths of his 2012 rotation.  Sanchez projects to earn $5.2Million in 2012, after which he’ll be eligible for free agency.  That he was traded for one year of Cabrera shows how much his trade value slipped during the ’11 season.  Sanchez was set to battle Barry Zito for the Giants’ fifth starter job next year.

Cabrera had the opposite experience in 2011, as he had a resurgence after being non-tendered and signing a $1.25MM free agent deal.  The 27-year-old hit .305/.339/.470 with 18 home runs in 706 plate appearances for the Royals, playing mostly center field. —

Yep.

It Happened.

Sanchez had a DOWN Season…

…and Got Traded Away…

…while Melky had an UP Season…

…and Got Traded Away.

While Some Are FUMED Over This Deal

I’d Actually Call It More of a (Maybe) WIN (Maybe) WIN, type Deal.

Only Time Will Honestly Tell, Fo Sho Fo Sho.

Once AGAIN, The 2011 Off-Season Brings Us PLENTY of Saucy-Interesting’ish-ness.

hehehe

I Simply LOVE Making Up Almost Words That STILL Make Plenty Of Sense!

😉

The Off-Season Rolls-On!

STAY TUNED!
