I’m backing Moonraker. Partly because it’s undoubtedly the underdog, but also because it’s fucking hilarious. It packs in all the usual adventure you expect to find in a Bond movie. Great locations and great sets. There’s a very decent baddie in Lonsdale’s Drax. But most of all, it’s just silly and entertaining. By turns intentionally and unintentionally funny. Check out Drax pretending to play piano. Or his sped up dogs. Or a stuntman in drag being taken down by said dogs (this time in slow motion). Dialogue like “may I press you to a cucumber sandwich” just isn’t found in Bond movies anymore.
So, go with Moonraker. Not the cool option. Not the popular choice, but a film that will entertain you and leave you smiling, despite its flaws.
Although one of my less favorite of the Connery Bond flicks, I really like the Bond films from that era. Moonraker is my least fave of the Moore Bond flicks but I do love Live and Let Die, Man with the Golden Gun, & the Spy who Loved Me… so its not really a Moore vs Connery decision for me.
Thunderball all the way!

Tough one, was never a big fan of either one but Sean Connery always wins against Roger Moore.
