  1. Have you ever seen a Halloween horror movie called “Trick R’ Treat”? It came out a few years ago, and it’s a very clever, entertaining little horror film. Nice role by Brian Cox, who played the original Hannibal Lecter in “Manhunter.” I definitely recommend it. (And I highly recommend “Manhunter” as well.)

    • I saw “Manhunter” in the theater, but didn’t really get it. I’ve since read the book (“Red Dragon”), so should probably give it another try.

      • In many ways, it’s virtually the same movie as “Silence of the Lambs.” In fact, many of the lines are exactly the same. But Brian Cox is even darker, and to me, more believable than the campier Lecter played by Hopkins. Also, in Manhunter, the role of the primary bad guy (“The Tooth Fairy in Manhunter; “Buffalo Bill” in Silence) is developed in much greater detail.

  2. Halloween II is a great movie, but I think you’re being too hard on part I–building suspense is much scarier to me than “jump-out-and-grab-ya” stuff.

    • I Think I’ve Simply Seen “Halloween” So So Many Times That There Is No Suspense Anymore.
And Without The Suspense, The Flick Starts To Fade.
At Least With “Halloween II” There’s Suspense AND All The Fun Gory Violence The 1980s Made Famous.
That’s Why I Said, “Halloween” Was More Like A Horror Art Film. I Do Love It.
I Just Have Much More FUN Watching The Full-On Slasher Flick That Is “Halloween II” 🙂
