Another Plot Device

I try not to double post articles on my blog.  I mean I have done roughly 700 posts in about the 18 months I have been doing this so I try and give you all some new content every day.  I will say I have done a repost about  times now, one with Predator and then Heima, but that is due to time constraints and busy schedules.  But since I am doing a month long horror movie post, I can’t just sit back and not talk about this movie once again or at least post my original article.  This is the epitome of a horror movie for me and it’s one of the best movies out there.  That’s right, the movie that was bombed by critics and performed poorly at the box office, but it turned out to be John Carpenters best movies and a cult classic.

The On Deck Circle

There were lots of great stories this year.  The unexpectedly strong showings of the Orioles and the A’s, as well as the Nats, probably top the list.  Also, many people thought that no one would ever win another Triple Crown.  In past years, I’ve read articles that sought to “prove” that it could never happen again.  Miguel Cabrera’s remarkable achievement may be the last time many of us ever witness this event in our lifetimes.

Mike Trout’s historic rookie season was one for the ages.  No other rookie in history ever produced a 30 homer, 40 steal season, leading the league with 49 steals.  He also led the A.L. in runs scored (129) and in OPS+ (171).  It’ll be interesting to see how the vote for the A.L. MVP award turns out.

Being Global James Bond Day it was just fitting that Adele’s title tune for the upcoming Bond film Skyfall would be released today. And unsurprisingly this tune is amazing. This may be the first modern Bond theme that can proudly take its place beside the classic Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones highly dramatic tunes. I don’t think a marriage of current pop star and movie theme fits together any better than Adele and the Bond franchise.
