There’s a lot of truth to this. I believe a person’s happiness must come first from the inside, for a love and respect for himself/herself. When we base our self-esteem on external factors (income, possessions, position/status), we’re offering our most precious asset to fate. Fortunes, possessions and positions come and go, but if we live with purpose, what have a constant on which to base our sense of self-worth.
