  1. FOR SOME reason Harry Truman was and is an idol of mine… I don’t know maybe that layed on his shoulders could have been the biggest decision made of that century… to end the war with a drop or not… NOT a very wonderful proposition either way, but he made the decision and even though I wasn’t alive during the time he was President, from reading about it, I have to say… that was one HELL of a man!

    Just saying, Emily Guido

    • Harry Truman Was My Grandpa’s Idol The Bulk Of His Life. He Has Alzheimer’s Now, And Doesn’t Remember Anything Like That, But He Was Aboard An Aircraft Carrier (U.S.S. WASP) In The Pacific During WWII. Grandpa Said Harry Truman Made The Biggest Decision In The History Of Our Country, And He Saved Millions Of Lives. No Other President Could/Would Have Done What He Did.
In Fact, I Bought Paw The Book “TRUMAN” By David McCULLOUGH For His BDay Back In 1995, Since I Knew He’d Appreciate That More Than Anything Else.
The World Would Be A Vastly Different Place Had “Give’Em Hell Harry” Not Dropped The Big One.

      • I know that either path he took, he must have been feeling like the sky was falling and to make the decision he did was extremely difficult and at a MAJOR crisis in America’s short history as a nation! Excuse the expression but he must have had balls of steel! Anyway, I will put that book, “Truman” on my must read list! It will be nice reading something that didn’t need an author’s review! Thanks Brad and this was a VERY refreshing post!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and I follow you so unfortunately you might hear from me once in a while! I love posting comments… sorry!
