  1. Most players never hit .367 in their career. Ty Cobb averaged .367 for his 20 something years career. Even Babe Ruth averaged .342 for his career. Pete Rose may have had more hits than Ty Cobb but he played over 500 more games or about 3 seasons more worth of at-bats. Rose is 115th on the all-time batting average list with his .303 batting average.

  2. Interesting thing about Cobb to me is that he won just one MVP award, in 1911, despite regularly being the best player in the league. Guess that’s what happens when you piss off the wrong people.
