“…IT WRITHES!…
…IT WRITHES!…
…With Mortal Pangs…
…The Mimes Become Its Food…
…And The Angels Sob At Vermin Fangs…
…In Human Gore Imbued! …”
“…Out…
…Out Are The Lights…
…Out All!…
…And…
…Over Each Dying Form…
…The Curtain…
…A Funeral Pall…
…Comes Down With The Rush Of A Storm…
…And The Seraphs…
…All Haggard And Wan…
…Uprising…
…Unveiling…
…Affirm…
…That The Play Is The Tragedy “Man”…
…It’s Hero THE CONQUEROR WORM.”

Just An Exceptional Poem I’ve Known Forever…
…And Something I Sincerely Felt Like Sharing With Y’all.
I’m Taking Care Of My Grandpa Today…
…And I’ve Been Reading While He’s Been Napping.
This One…
“THE CONQUEROR WORM“
…Is A Personal Favorite…
…And One I Felt Y’all Might Enjoy.
Hope Your Day Is Going Well, My Peeps.
Mine Has Been Slow AND Quiet…
…But I Shall NOT Complain About That.
Slow AND Quite Can Be Simply PERFECT From Time To Time.
Today Is One Of Those Times.
Can Y’all Dig My Jive???
I KNEW YOU COULD!!!

Love my Poe, pretty sure this poem is from The Fall of the House of Usher.

Wonderful verses. My favorite poem since I can remember. Though composed and published as an independent work, it was later added to the short story “Ligeia”, though I think it is more recognized separate from that tale. Thanks for posting!
