“THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!” …Unless It’s A CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT Double Shot! “SUBWAY” (1985) and “HIGHLANDER” (1986)

I’ve Paired These Two Flicks Together For One Reason…

…And One Reason Only.

They Are…

…In My Opinion…

…The Two Flicks MOST RESPONSIBLE…

…For Putting…

CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT

…”On-The-Map” As They Say.

=== === === ===

SUBWAY

(1985)

"SUBWAY" Was Written AND Directed By LUC BESSON. It Stars CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT, ISABELLE ADJANI, RICHARD BOHRINGER, and JEAN RENO!

=== === === ===

…And…

=== === === ===

HIGHLANDER

(1986)

"HIGHLANDER" Was Directed By RUSSELL MULCAHY, And Stars CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT, CLANCY BROWN, ROXANNE HART, and SEAN CONNERY!

M’Kay…

…Now I Already Know What You’re Gonna Say.

“Hey Dude, “GREYSTOKE: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, LORD OF THE APES” Came-Out In 1984!”

And YES…

…You Would Be Correct On That.

HOWEVER…

…That Film, To Me, Was More-So The Ole “Foot-In-The-Door” For…

CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT

.Period.

In 1984, However…

…Most Folks The World Over Still Had NO CLUE Who He Was.

Then Came…

SUBWAY

…In 1985.

SUBWAY

…Was A True “UNDERGROUND-SUCCESS”, So To Speak.

(Pun TOTALLY Intended, btw)

And I’m Going To Say This Because I Feel It’s Something Y’all MUST UNDERSTAND…

…But I Sincerely…

…Honestly…

…TRULY…

…Hate Hate HATED…

SUBWAY

…The First Time I’d Seen It.

I Love Love LOVED The Opening Of The Flick…

…But Was Very Much-So…

…CONFUSED…

…And…

…BORED…

…With Most Of The Rest Of It.

More Than Once…

…I Was Forced To Say To Myself…

…”WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?”…

…”WHAT AM I WATCHING?”…

…”WHO THOUGHT UP THIS SHIT?”…

…”IS THERE REALLY A COMMUNITY LIVING IN THE SUBWAY?”…

…And So-On…

…And So-Forth…

…And So-Forth Again.

And YES, My Peeps…

…I Can Almost Guarantee All Of You…

…You’re VERY LIKELY To Say Those EXACT SAME THINGS…

…When You Watch…

SUBWAY

…For The First…

…And Second…

…And Third…

…And Perhaps Even The Fourth Time.

It. Is. WEIRD.

.PERIOD.

Eventually…

…I Started Noticing Some Things I Hadn’t Before.

I Started To Understand It A Bit Better.

I Mean…

…It IS A FRENCH Flick.

It’s SUBTITLED.

It Is NOT An Easy Watch.

Once It All Begins To Fall Into Place…

…However…

…It Becomes A Bit Fun…

…In Its Own…

…Odd…

…Quirky…

…Weird Way.

If You Are A Person Who’s BLESSED With A Little Something Called PATIENCE…

…Then YES, I CAN Recommend This Flick To You.

If You’re One Who’s LACKING In The PATIENCE-DEPARTMENT…

…You May Wanna Hold-Off On…

SUBWAY

…For Now.

You Should Really Just Trust Me On This One.

πŸ˜‰

Now…

…When I Talk About…

HIGHLANDER

…I’m Talkin’ About A Flick MOST “Movie-Lovin’-Folks” Have At Least HEARD OF.

And I’m Quite Sure MOST Of Those “Movie-Lovin’-Folks” Would Agree With Me When I Say…

HIGHLANDER

…Is…

CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT‘s

…MOST MOST MOST…

…Well-Known/Popular…

…Piece Of Work.

.PERIOD.

It Is THE Quintessential…

CHRISTOPHER LAMBER

…Flick…

…At Least To MOST Peeps.

Do I LOVE IT?

YES.

Is It HIS BEST?

No.

Is It MY FAVORITE?

No.

Is It Generally The First Flick Of His People Remember and/or Mention?

YES.

Yes It Is.

Is That Alright With Me?

SURE THING!

Why?

Because I’m Just Happy People Remember and/or Mention Him AT ALL!

PLUS…

…It Gives Me An IN.

Mention…

HIGHLANDER

…And People Say…

“Oh Yeah, Dude! I SO KNOW THAT ONE!”

To Which My Reply Is…

“That’s GREAT! Figured You’d Know THAT ONE! I So SO LOVE IT! By The Way, Have You Ever Seen “RESURRECTION“? Same Actor. Same Director. BETTER FLICK!”

Of Course, My Peeps…

…This Is All Simply MY Opinion.

Though…

…I Will Say…

…More And More Of You Appear To Be Agreeing With Me More And More!!!

That’s GREAT!!!

And…

…There Also Appears To Be More And More Of You Willing To Call-Me-Out On A Few Of My Opinions.

That’s ALSO GREAT!!!

I So SO HATE IT When Everything Is All One-Sided, Ya Know?

One-Sided = UNBALANCED

I Require BOTH Barrels, My Peeps.

I Love Knowing There Are Folks Out There Who Think I’m RIGHT-ON And Those Who Think I’m WAY-OFF.

I Sincerely Wouldn’t Have It Any Other Way.

AND THAT IS FO SHO!!!

  1. Howdy. Nice double. LOVED Highlander when I saw it, and the sequel was one of the most disappointing things I have ever seen. Also love the title of this blog. Can I ask… what’s with the centred text and one or two words a line thing? Don’t get me wrong, it screams attitude (it’s like reading a communist propaganda poster) – I was just wondering if there was a reason other than fun?

    • Actually, There Is A Reason.
It’s Structurally AND Visually BALANCED. πŸ™‚
      I’m An Obsessive-Compulsive hehe
SO I Always Attempt To Bring Out Structural AND Visual Balance To My Pieces.
I Also Feel It’s Rather Unique When Compared To Most Of The Other Blogs I’ve Had The Pleasure Of Reading.
I Don’t Know Anyone Else Who Writes In Quite The Same Way.
      I Write How I Talk…
