What’s MY Favorite SHAKESPEARE ADAPTATION??? “MACBETH” (1971) Of Course!!!

"MACBETH" (1971) Stars JON FINCH, FRANCESCA ANNIS, And MARTIN SHAW. It Was Directed By ROMAN POLANSKI.

Without A Doubt…

ROMAN POLANSKI’s

…Film Adaptation…

…Of…

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE’s

MACBETH

…Is My FAVE-FAVE Of ALL-TIME.

Period.

It’s SO Dark.

SO Moody.

SO Violent.

SO Tragic.

SO Compelling.

SO Captivating.

SO WELL Written.

SO WELL Acted.

SO WELL Directed.

The Darkest Vision Possible For An Audience In 1971…

…And It Continues To Hold-Up VERY WELL In Today’s World.

JON FINCH

…Is…

MACBETH

…And…

…One Of The BEST…

…In Terms Of Actors Whom NEVER Got The Credit…

…Nor The Screen-Time…

…They Truly DESERVED.

He Has That “EVERY-MAN” Quality.

He Seems Like Someone Who’s Just As I Am.

Quiet A Lot.

Passionate.

Moody.

Misunderstood.

Yet He Has Always Had An Air About Him That Screams Aloud…

“I Am NOT To Be Taken For Granted. I Am Exceptional In My Craft, And I DO Know What The Hell I’m Doing.”

He Commands Respect…

…Deserves Respect…

…Yet RARELY Ever Got Even A Lick Of Respect.

Period.

In Regard To…

ROMAN POLANSKI

…I’ll Just Say…

…I Do So SO Enjoy His Work…

…And Respect Him As A FILMMAKER.

The Rest Of His Life?

Eh.

I Ain’t Goin’ There.

I Shall Let That Sleepin’ Dog CONTINUE Its Slumber.

If You Like Your Shakespeare To Be Dark AND Evil…

…Done Right…

…And Done Well…

…Then You MIGHT Really REALLY Enjoy…

  1. I thought BBC’s (UK version) adaption of Macbeth was very good in 2005. It was a modern day adaption of it and it starred James McAvoy (Wanted, X-Men:First Class). It had a few decent actors in and appealed to new fans which I thought was interesting, well worth a watch
