  1. Great choices there, I also liked ‘The Missing’ which was a bit of a remake of ‘The Searchers’. Bite the Bullet, Goin’South and The Misouri Breaks honourable mentions but yes this was your list. I forgets myself sometimes.

  2. I’m glad you included ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST. Some critics I read say that Sergio Leone went too far with his stylistic choices with IN THE WEST and made it sort of a parody. I just don’t understand how someone can see it that way. Though I don’t think it’s as good as his Man with No Name Trilogy, it’s a great further exploration into his western themes and styles.

I recommend you check out another one of Leone’s works, if you haven’t seen it. ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA (1984). It’s one of my favorite movies, and I think, at times, it’s a better mob flick than THE GODFATHER. Just make sure you get the director’s cut, otherwise your going to see the studio’s 90-minute piece of garbage.

    • Nah. It’s A War Movie πŸ˜‰
“The Seven Samurai” was turned into “The Magnificent Seven” Which Is A Western, Though.
It’s A Good One. I’ve Got It. But Its Best Part Is The Cast.

  6. Some great flicks! I’ve never seen “Once Upon A Time In The West” or “The Searchers.” (Yeah, I know, I know…I’ll see ’em someday).
I haven’t seen “Liberty Valence,” but I know the song.

I love High Noon. I first saw that in a class at college–“The American West: Myth and Reality.”

    High Plains & Pale Rider–awesome.

So what’s your take–is Clint a ghost in HPD? And is Pale Rider a sequel?

    • “Once Upon A Time In The West” Seriously Is THE BEST WESTERN I Have EVER Seen. It’s A Spaghetti Western, But It’s MANY MANY MANY Times BETTER Than “The Man With No Name Trilogy” And That’s A Fact.
Check It Out When You Can, Dude.
I’m SURE You’ll LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
