(Not So) Random Movie Mention: THE BLUE MAX (1966)

Honestly, My Peeps, “THE BLUE MAX” Is A Rather Splendid Oddity Of Sorts. It Takes Place During WORLD WAR I. It’s A Story Told From The GERMAN Perspective. And The Two Main Stars, Both Of Whom Are Portraying GERMAN Military Men, Are GEORGE PEPPARD (An AMERICAN From DETROIT) And JAMES MASON (A Distinguished ENGLISHMAN)!!!

Now, Please Don’t Get Me Wrong. I Love “THE BLUE MAX” And ALWAYS Have. But I’m Also One Who Has ALWAYS Wondered Exactly WHY The Producers Decided To Go With One Of THE MOST AMERICAN Actors Of ALL-TIME (PEPPARD) To Portray A Young GERMAN Soldier-Turned-ACE-PILOT?!?!? It’s The 1966 Version Of The “Kevin Costner As Robin Hood” Syndrome. BUT BUT BUT, Does It Take Away From The Grand-Film That IS “THE BLUE MAX“??? Well… Only If You’re PICKY. πŸ˜‰
