One thing I’ve noticed, from all the Lincoln photographs that I’ve ever seen, is that he doesn’t smile in any of them. I always hear about Lincoln and the jokes and funny stories that he told. But what his smile looked like, and what his voice sounded like, are still a mystery. Strange.
