I’m gonna echo the Dourif love–he’s a great, under-appreciated actor. He brings a certain sweet fragility to everything he does. However, playing devil’s advocate, I’d say his career has been well-suited to his talents.
He doesn’t strike me as a lead. That may seem to be a slight or dismissive of his talent, but I don’t mean it that way. He has the ability (as in “Cuckoo’s Nest) to uphold the overriding theme of a film as a poignant character, but I just don’t see him as the lead.
Great actor though. And even though he’s been in some s****y movies (I saw “Graveyard Shift” in the theater), at least he’s never had to get a “real job.”
